Indra Oey

Head of Food Science Department, University of Otago

Professor Oey is the Head of Food Science Department at the University of Otago, the Principal Investigator of Project 9 Pulsed Electric Field processing for Food Industry Enabling Technology (FIET) programme and the Principal Investigator of Riddet Institute CoRE. Her research expertise is postharvest innovation and novel food processing technologies such as advanced heating, high pressure and pulsed electric fields. She is interested in developing smart innovative approaches and technologies to add value to biological materials such as producing safe, nutritious, fresh-like and flavoursome foods in a sustainable way. She is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Food Science and Technology and the Science Board member of Food Industry Enabled Technology (FIET) programme.
